Traylor is a well behaved, gentle, and happy dog who likes to be petted and talked to and he LOVES to go on walks. He likes attention but he is not pushy or insistent on attention--he does not jump on you. The minute Traylor sees his harness and leash, he starts dancing around and comes over to get into his walking gear.  Other than pausing to anoint a number of trees and bushes, he does well on the walks and is comfortable with walking for 1-2 miles in the evening.  Traylor is comfortable walking alone with his person or with another dog.  Traylor is not completely housebroken but he is much better about letting us know when he needs to go outside.  When it is cold or rainy, he needs a little bit of persuasion to go outside. He will bark when let outside but is not an incessant barker.    He is a very loyal companion, liking to sit at your feet when you are reading or watching television.  Traylor is on a  low-fat dry food diet and he likes yogurt,  cottage cheese, rice, and shredded chicken breast /rice on his dry food.  Traylor dances in circles when he sees his food bowl.  He eats well and quickly. Other than at walk times, Traylor is not a high energy dog--he will run, for short distances in the back yard to chase a squirrel or take part in a barking contest.  Because of his long coat, Traylor requires brushing of his chest, ears, hindquarters, and tail.  He does better with being groomed to have the long heavy coat removed for the summer otherwise he gets very warm in the summer. Traylor is very friendly with people who come to our home and on our walks.  We are not sure how Traylor would respond to cats in a home--he does want to chase cats on our walks.  Traylor is crate trained and voluntarily goes to his crate during the day. Riding in a car, Traylor prefers to lie on the floorboards in the back.  He does fine riding in the car but he is prefers walks to riding in the car.
