Maceo:  Adopted

Hi, my name is Maceo, and my heart is as big as I am. I am what they call a "standard" dachshund, but there is nothing standard about the size of my heart. My best asset is my loyalty. I want to be with and protect my human so much; it is sometimes difficult for me to be separated from you. You see, in my life before rescue, my owner had a hard time facing the difficulties of living and when he could take no more, I laid by his side loyal to the end and even beyond. I believe this is why I become anxious sometimes; because I don't want anything happening to my human ever again. But after experiencing love and stability in my foster home, I am learning to trust that my human will come back to me, and won't leave me alone forever like before.

I love to run around in my yard and watch all the action with the birds and squirrels. I'm not so good with cats, but hey, nobody's perfect. I am well mannered when left alone in the house, I don't chew anything inappropriate, and I love to go outside to do my business. I enjoy children and get so excited playing that my whole back end wiggles along with my tail.

So, anyway, that is my story, and I am hoping that someone out there will give me the chance to show them how loving and loyal I am.
