Sweet Pea came by her name honestly. She is such a sweet little gal. She is very loving and enjoys the bed with all the other pooches. She really seems to like her doggie foster brothers. She is definitely a chow hound -- anytime her foster Mom is in the kitchen, Sweet Pea is right there, awaiting a morsel. She is working on her house training but she is very good on a leash. Thunder makes her nervous. She sits by the sliding door and watches and whines a little. Sweet Pea likes to bark when the door bell rings. What a good little guard dog!

Update May 10, 2011

Sweet Pea is now totally blind from inoperable diabetic cataracts (shhh... don't tell her though). She is amazing!! She still uses the doggie door and has no problem finding the kitchen at meal time. She even comes running - from anywhere in the house - when she hears her foster parents preparing her insulin injection... of course, she gets a good treat with her shot!! Her diabetes is now well controlled on her "home made" diet and a very small amount of insulin twice a day. She has two different eye drops that we use twice a day to keep her eyes comfortable for her and she doesn't mind a bit (as long as she gets her treat!).
