Slick and Willie were once owned by a loving family, and judging by their names, a family with quite a sense of humor. These two tiny, friendly boys were dumped at a local kill shelter once they got a little older and started having health issues.
Luckily, one of our wonderful foster homes was able to take them in together and nurse them back to health. They both had horrible teeth, and their coats were dull and thinning. Now they are eating a good diet and have had most of their health issues addressed. They are very lively for their age and really love their lap time. Slick was lucky to avoid heartworm disease. His buddy Willie wasn't quite as lucky.

UPDATE
I have gained some much needed weight and now I have a nice shiny coat! My foster parents say that if my name weren’t Slick, they would have named me Rudolph because I have a red nose (and even red whiskers and nails!).
I
have a lot of spunk for my 12 years, but also enjoy my naps. I love a
couch and like to be around people. I have even been known to sneak into
the house when my foster parents weren’t looking and head straight for
the couch. I do well meeting new people and get along with other dogs,
but prefer to hang out with my partner Willie. We love to play together
and snuggle..especially on the couch! At first, I was a bit too
interested in the cat, but he doesn’t bother me now...and he and I have
even napped together on the couch.
I also like the great outdoors and will often spend time in the yard enjoying the fresh air. I enjoy taking a stroll and my foster Mom says I have the best prance she has ever seen! Did I mention that I like a couch? Do you have a couch with room for me?
