October Update

Leopold is a gorgeous dark red boy who is just as sweet as they come. He really enjoys his play time and then settles in for lots of lovin'!

Leo loves to for walks everyday and he prances around waiting for his leash. Once outside, he enjoys snooping around and checking out what he can find in the grass! He loves to sit next to someone or on a lap. Leo is used to sleeping with his foster parents or on a nice cushion next to their bed.

His foster parents don't crate him as their vet does not recommend Leo be crated at all. He also cries while on car rides. He does need his teeth brushed once a week, or more, but he tolerates this just fine. He has a good appetite and doesn't waste any time eating his supper! Eveyone in the neighborhood knows and likes Leo -- He's great with children and he never bites.

UPDATE

We still think Leo is a great dog! He loves to go on walks and he has an extra keen sense of smell (especially when food is somewhere close). The only time he uses a crate is when he rides in the car. He loves to get in the car but then cries until his foster folks have reached their destination. We're not sure if he tolerates cats but we think he does as he is so easy going... If not, he would get used to them! Leo continues to have seizures, but that doesn't stop him -- If it were up to him, he would be outside all day chasing anything that moves!

UPDATE

Leopold is a great dog. He is potty trained in his foster home. He whines for a while when he goes into his crate at night or when his humans leave, but he quickly settles in and is a great boy. He like to go on walks and never pulls on his leash. He tolerates cats and is very sweet with other dogs in his foster home. He really loves his toys and love to run after them.

UPDATE

Leopold has been diagnosed with a seizure disorder. It is completely under control with a very low dose of a very inexpensive medication. He has not had one episode in the 2 weeks he has been on the medication.

UPDATE

Unlike the lion in the Wizard of Oz, this Leo has a huge heart! He is an easy going fellow with a laid back approach to life. Leopold is trustworthy in the house and does not need to be kenneled during the day, or at night.

Leopold is the perfect age to enter a household without any of he issues a young puppy can bring. He requires nothing but acceptance and love, the rest he already knows. His manners are well practiced and he is willing to wait for an invitation to join you on the couch, or come running when you call his name. Leo loves to go for walks and will wiggle with excitement when you get out his leash. He is very good with children or other dogs, and greets everyone he meets as if he has known them his entire life.

Thunderstorms and loud noises do scare him. He will seek your comfort and safety to get through those stressful times. Leopold is a sensitive soul with a caring personality that is just perfect for nearly any type of household. He willingly shares his warmth and love, asking so very little in return.

Leopold does have occasional seizures and requires medication to manage this condition. He would need a family willing to commit to this care. In return, he will commit to loving you unconditionally for the rest of his life. Sounds like a pretty fair trade! If you've been searching for a companion like Leo, stop looking and fill out an application! He's been here waiting patiently for someone just like you!
