February Update
Beven recently moved to a new foster home and here is what his foster parents told us:
This little man is amazing! He learned our house rules within a day or two. When we first got him home, he took off through our pasture and just ran! He loves to be in the open and have other dogs to play with. His favorite buddy is our big dog. He really fits in well with our other Doxies.
He is the first to greet me, in the morning and when I come home from work. He follows instructions extremely well and he does nothing but bring a smile to our faces and love in our hearts. He learns quickly, usually on the first or second time. He is house trained, kennel trained, "stair" trained, rides extremely well in the car and loves our trips to the Georgetown Bark Park (in the Big Dog section).
We also have free range chickens (outside), Potbellied pig (inside) and three kitty cats (inside), which Beven will watch but does not chase. He gets along very well with children of all ages!
We were told that he had his pelvis bones fractures when CTDR first got him but we have seen no trace of any residual effects of this injury! He will sometimes run with his right back leg up but so does two of our other Doxies who have never been injured. He plays with all our dogs and if we were not told that he was previously injured, we would have never known based on his behaviors.
If you are looking for a dog who is smart, handsome, funny, small enough to fit in your robe (which he loves to do in the mornings) and only wants to love and be with you, this little guy is your dog! He will fit well in a household with children, older adults, other animals or just by himself!

Hello there! My name is Beven and I am the man for you! I am a two-year-old mini red and white piebald. I don't know how it happened but I found myself alone, limping and in a lot of pain at the nearby animal shelter. Then one day some nice people came and got me (I am told they are the CTDR Rescue Angels) and I was taken to a place where animals are taken when they are hurt. I ended up having surgery for two pelvic fractures as the vet said most likely I was hit by a car. It has now been four weeks since my surgery and I have been recovering nicely at my current foster home. I am now able to take short walks only as I still need my muscles in my leg to get stronger. My foster mom says I am a real sweet boy and that I really love a good belly rub. I am always looking for a good lap to sit in, could it be yours?
Do you have a spot in your heart for me?
