CTDR is thrilled to have been selected as one of the eight benefactors for this year's Dogtoberfest event in October. Dogtoberfest is becoming one of the most popular dog events in Austin. Each year the event gets bigger and better! Over the last three years they gave more than $45,000 to local dog rescue groups and named "Most Awesome-ist Pet Related Event" by Austin Pets Directory for 2009 & 2010!

Rover Casting Call: Saturday June 11
The LOFT at The Domain is hosting the "Rover Casting Call" event and has asked Dogtoberfest Austin to help organize and participate in this event.
Andrew Grant is the man behind "Rover." This museum-quality, 12"x12", 468-page hardcover coffee table book benefits pet rescues and shelters. It is an unbelievable tribute to man's best friend with over 400 up-close images in stunning detail. Nearly all the dogs featured in "Rover" once lived in a rescue or shelter. Grant hopes that the beautiful, loving and grateful faces inside "Rover" will inspire people to welcome a shelter pet into their home.
This year Grant will be producing a final edition of "Rover" November 2011, and is hosting approximately 20 Rover Casting Calls events throughout the US to find compelling dogs to feature in the next "Rover" book while bringing awareness to and raising money for local rescues and shelters. The casting call is limited to the FIRST 120 dogs registered. Registration will open at 8:00am. Andrew will do one-on-one interviews with every dog that is registered. Based on the interview, he will select one or two dogs from the Austin event to feature in his upcoming book.
CTDR is participating in the "Meet & Greet" this Saturday, June 11 (10am-5pm). It will be a great opportunity for us to show off some of our foster dogs in addition to the casting call. The Dogtoberfest team is expecting a big crowd on Saturday, so lots of visibility!
