We had a great time at NXNW's Oktoberfest on Sunday! German beer, German food, German music and German wiener dogs! What more could you need?
Oct 22: Dogtoberfest
CTDR was thrilled to have been selected as one of the eight benefactors for this year's Dogtoberfest event. The 4th Annual Dogtoberfest is becoming one of the most popular dog events in Austin. Each year the event gets bigger and better! Over the last three years they gave more than $45,000 to local dog rescue groups and named "Most Awesome-ist Pet Related Event" by Austin Pets Directory for 2009 & 2010! Oct 18: Dogtoberfest Pre-Event
On Tuesday, October 18, California Pizza Kitchen is doing a special Dogtoberfest Pre-Event where anyone who brings in a Dogtoberfest postcard, a percentage comes back to Dogtoberfest, which then comes back to us as one of the selected rescue groups. They are doing this at both the Domain and Barton Creek locations. They are looking for each rescue to have representation at the locations to help pass out postcards. Oct 16: HOWLoWeenie
| Sunday, October 16th was CTDR's first Halloween party in the Austin area. We had a great time -- there were activities galore, including costume contests for canines and their humans, silent auction, food, drink and games. October 1-2: PetSense "Home Now" Event
| On October 1-2, Petsense sponsored the "Home Now" event at their Round Rock Outlet Mall store location. Petsense partnered with CTDR as well as other rescues and shelters nation-wide in order to showcase adoptable animals as well as provide details about CTDR's rescue organization. Sept 25: Puppy Mill Awareness Day
The Backyard, Austin
CTDR had a great time participating in the second annual Puppy Mill Awareness Day.
Aug 27: Show & Tails Dog Fair
CTDR participated in the Show & Tails Dog Fair in New Braunfels! There were Wiener Dog Races, a costume contest, ask-a-vet, trainer demonstrations and more. We took the WienerMobile Pedal Car and had a fun time taking lots of pictures. Be sure and check out our Flickr page.
July 23: San Antonio Pet Expo
CTDR had a great time at the San Antonio Pet Expo on July 23. There were lots of dogs featured at the expo, but we also saw pot-bellied pigs, snakes, lizards, goats, cats and a pony! We're still uploading photos, but check out our Flickr Page.
San Antonio's News Station, KENS 5, posted some terrific slideshows of the event online, and if you missed it, these give you an idea of just how many people attended!
July 2: BookPeople Release Party
| CTDR partnered with BookPeople Saturday, July 2, for a Book Release party. Wiener Wolf is an adorable book about a domesticated dachshund with a fire his belly to leave the comforts of suburban living and join a wolf pack -- to run wild and become a true WIENER WOLF! Author Jeff Crosby will be on hand to read and sign copies of this hilarious and heartwarming picture book. |
