Want to liven things up around your house? Then Baby is your kind of dog. As the name suggests, she is the offspring of another dog on our website, Sugar. The two of them lost their owner to an unexpected death. A kind individual took them in, had them fully vetted and contacted CTDR for help. Baby is a 10 month old red mini, weighing in at about 8 ½ pounds. She doesn’t know the word quit and goes full speed from the minute her golden eyes open. Saying she is energetic is an understatement. Her longer-than-usual legs allow her to bounce like a ball if she wants to get up onto something or wants to see what you’re doing. She is the daughter of Sugar and the two of them mirror each other in activity level and curiosity. It’s unsure whether they are so strongly bonded that separation would be a problem. On the plus side, she gets along well with other dogs in the foster home which suggests she might do well on her own, with an adjustment period to be expected. Baby was clearly an inside dog. She is trained to use a pad and is very diligent about using it. It might take some effort to switch her to going outside the house to do her business. That said, she is young and intelligent and eager to please so she should catch on to a different routine for bathroom breaks. She has adjusted to being outside during the day at her foster home. The benefit is that she uses up her high energy stores and crashes when she comes in. This makes for a restful sleep for both her and her foster. Speaking of sleep, she loves sleeping on the bed and will snuggle like a champ. Baby would do well in a home that could accommodate her high energy level. It’s not known how she would do with children, but it’s easy to picture her enjoying the stimulation they would bring into her life. She would likely be OK in an apartment, given her training with a pad. She would require enough outside activities to let her dissipate some of energy. Oh and she needs someone who will give her plenty of good, old-fashioned love
