Sawyer and his brother Levi were given up by their long-time owners because their family situation had changed and they could no longer provide a home for them. CTDR rescued these boys from the North Texas area and transported them to Austin for veterinary care. They are ready for adoption and need a loving, forever home where they can continue being the happy dogs that they are.
Sawyer and Levi are happy, congenial dogs, much interested in their environment and the people around them. They seem to be well adjusted dogs making them pleasant companions. They GREATLY enjoy attention and affection (especially belly rubs) and going for walks, and of course eating. Both are good walkers, leading but not excessively pulling. They are both intelligent dogs. Both can be confrontive to new people, but ease up fairly quickly. They are crate-trained and cah share one crate if needed. Their potty training appears complete. They have mastered the doggie door and when in the room with access to it, they use it to go out to do their business. Although they are a bonded pair and are usually very close when alone together, when in the company of their people they usually pay more attention to them than they do to each other. They often compete for affection, sometimes shoving the other aside and engaging in rough-housing to be the center of attention.
Sawyer is enamored with squeaky toys and playing fetch, of which he never tires. Sawyer is predominantly a black and tan but has out-croppings of silver dapple.
