Sweet Brownie was surrendered to a local shelter with seven other dogs after their owner could no longer care for them. He has adjusted amazingly well to his foster home, becoming comfortable quickly with his foster family (three adults and one teenager) and their older mixed breed, larger (35 lb) dog. Brownie is crate-trained and potty-trained, just need to watch his signals as he doesn’t bark much. He has learned “Sit” and is eager to please so can certainly learn more (especially if treats are involved). He loves snuggling wherever his people are and enjoys chasing his chew toys. While he sleeps just fine in the crate, he is always game to jump into bed with whoever will have him and he sleeps through the night. He enjoys walks and will surprise you how fast he takes off after a squirrel. One of his greatest joys is laying in the grass in the sun, and he will sometimes do just that in a middle of a walk! He would do well in a home where someone is home much of the time, especially if there’s a yard/sunny grassy patch or a sunny patio to bask in for a while each day. His legs are just long enough to scamper up/down stairs, so that would not be problem.
