UPDATE: May was returned today by her adopter through no fault of her own.  It seems the other dog in the home did not like such a young dog being around.  She is back in foster care looking for just the right forever home.

My name is May! I was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. I was then rescued by CTDR and currently am in a foster home with both dogs and cat/kittens. They think I am around 9 months and of course a dachshund mix. I am a little timid and shy at first but it takes me no time to quickly warm up to people. When May does warm up, you’ll see her happy dance and do twirls, it is the best thing ever! She does lick your hand a lot when going down to pet her and also sometimes nibbles here and there but she just gets so excited and can’t help herself (she  is really gentle when she does this) I am a HUGE snuggle bug with both people, cats and dogs. I would love it if I had another housemate or two to play with. I am currently in a foster home with 2 dogs, 1 cat and a 1 month old kitten. I love to run with my foster fur friends and love to snuggle under the blankets when we get tired from playing. I am potty trained and as long as you show me the door to do my business, I learn very quickly. I am very treat motivated and love it when it is time to eat. My foster mom has taught me sit and focus. I get really excited when I see those treats come out. I am currently eating Hills Healthy Advantage Puppy Dry Kibble with a pump of Omega 3 plus vitamins. My Foster fur-friends and I all eat together and I do great because I love the company.   May does great on a leash but follows you wherever you go. She is a very curious dog and loves to be a part of anything you are doing. May does have a voice and mostly uses it when someone comes to the door or when a stranger approaches her a little too fast. She is a little anxious in new situations but just be patient with her and she will be fine. We are currently bringing her around parks and busy areas to get her acclimated to loud noises but she still does get scared every now and then. I do show interest in toys but still figuring out what I am supposed to do with them. I really like my walks in the evening and enjoy getting outside to explore. Don’t pass up on this sweet girl and all the love she has to give the world.
