Heartworm Prevention is given on the 4th of each month

UPDATE:  Tootie is a special dog that is on her second stay with CTDR. At no fault of her own, her first placement wasn’t a good fit and she was returned after four months. Tootie’s sweetness is equally matched with energy and personality. She is a bigger doxie mix with long legs, a perfectly curled tail and a slight underbite that only adds to her cuteness. At just close to a year, she is still full of puppy energy and silliness. She loves playing with her four foster siblings and would do best in a home with other dogs. She is excellent with children and would thrive in an active home that can provide her with walks, fetch, and someone to play with. She does enjoy playing by herself with a variety of toys, balls, bones and patrolling the backyard. When she does slow down, she is incredibly loving and gives the best hugs, snuggles and cuddles. She is a hard sleeper and does great sleeping in the big bed or in her crate. She took quickly to using a dog door. True to the doxie breed, she doesn’t like going outside if it’s raining or wet but will use a training pad indoors. Tootie is a fantastic dog. In the right environment, she will be the most loyal and loving companion to her new family. 

 

Tootie has found herself back in Rescue after being adopted 4 months ago.  She would love to have a foster home or a permanent home for the holidays!

 

Tootie and her friend Luke were found as strays and both were taken to a local shelter in hopes their family would come for them.  These two are only 2 months old and too young to be out on the streets.  They have started their vetting process and will hopefully be going to their foster homes soon.  They do not have to go to the same foster home as they do not appear to be a bonded pair.  Tootie likes to snack on her food all day so if there is another dog in the house you will need to take her food up.  She has learned how to use a dog door and how to play fetch.  she sleeps quietly in her crate all night long.
