Although there are no "perfect" dogs, Hank comes about as close as there is. If you are looking for a sturdy, athletic little dog that adapts to every new situation with confidence and good humor, Hank is the one for you.  Hank would make an excellent hiking partner, agility dog, or playmate for children and other dogs.  Hank gets along with everybody.  He loves to be outside and explore, but is equally at ease in your lap on the couch.  He learned the doggie door in less than a minute, so he is no mental slouch either.  He is excellent about coming when called, is great on a leash, sleeps quietly in his crate all night and one firm "no" is all it takes to distract him from any behavior.  He is very people-centric and -food centric which makes him a joy to teach.  Hank absolutely loves life, people, dogs, and chew toys.  Unfortunately, Hank's prior owners did not provide him with heartworm prevention, so he will have to suffer through heartworm treatment, and will not be available for final adoption until close to September.  But, Hank is well worth waiting for.  You will want to get your application in early for this wonderful dog with a great disposition whose middle name should be Happy.
