Hi, Bonnie’s foster mom here. And I must say, I have been so pleasantly surprised by this little girl! I went to pick her up with a little trepidation about taking on a semi-blind pup, but you would almost not know she has trouble seeing – she gets around that well! Nothing stops her from jumping into my lap, burrowing under warm covers, or just sitting quietly at my feet (as she is now). I tossed her a blanket, and looked down – there’s a large Bonnie blanket lump there! To tell you the truth, she stole my heart the moment I saw her at the clinic and she rolled over on the cold floor so I could rub her belly. This pup LOVES belly rubs. You can tell this dog was raised in a loving home. She acclimated well with my two dogs and loves people. The folks at the clinic told me she was their favorite and they were sad to see her go – if that tells you anything. Bonnie is intelligent and picks up nuances, body language, and voice tone well. She doesn’t seem to play with toys, but enjoys her chew bone and plays well with other dogs. I don’t have cats or children, but I don’t see this dog having problems with anyone (she’s just that sweet!). Children might be overwhelming, though, since she does have trouble seeing. Bonnie eats well and walks well on a leash. I think, because she doesn’t see so well, she bonds with her owner and wants to be as close as possible, so she snuggles a lot and wants lots of lap time (though she’s not obnoxious about it). If I was going to subtext Bonnie, I would say “Sweet girl seeks loving owner to dote on.”
