Petsense is holding its annual "Forever Home" event on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30.

Petsense is partnering with CTDR as well as other rescues and shelters nationwide in order to showcase adoptable animals. This is the second time to participate in this event as well and it will give us a great opportunity to provide details about our rescue organization. Petsense is looking to reach a goal of saving more than 1,000 animals through adoptions. The event will be inside their store (the dogs will have access outside for potty breaks and exercise) from 10am until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Sunday, October 28, we will once again be at Oktoberfest at North by Northwest Restaurant and Brewery at 10010 Capital of TX Hwy N in the Arboretum.  German beer, German food, German music and German wiener dogs! What more could you need? This is a fun event and people love to stop by our booth. We usually get some new adopters and fosters so we definitely want to have our foster dogs there to meet and greet folks! Be sure to have your costumes ready for this event too.

On Saturday, Sept 7, Walk Your Dog Austin will be hosting its inaugural Weenie Dog Swim Meet. CTDR will be one of the featured rescues!

The event is going to be held at the Barton Springs spillway, so it's going to be very casual. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the fun as well as register for the race. For folks who want to race their dogs, they will need to get in the water (need to have two people – one at the start and one at the finish).

Each of the dachshunds racing will get a fin with a number and one of the featured rescue logos. There will be multiple races, with a final race at the end.

CTDR has set up another Painting with a Twist event for Sunday, September 13, 2015.  It will be at their South Austin location at 6705 U.S. 290 West, Suite #501 Austin, TX 78735. 

This was a huge hit last time, and we all had a blast! At the last event, you all had requested that we do the "Paint Your Own Pet" painting, and we listened!  There will also be another painting option as well.

The first option is the "Paint Your Own Pet" painting.  You are able to paint your own fur-baby! It is a 3 hour event (3pm-6pm) at the price of $55.  The link below is where you can sign up to attend!  Make sure to read all directions, as you have to email them a picture of your pet so they can sketch him or her prior to your arrival.

Both paintings will be painted at the same time, just one will be an hour longer and cost a little more.  If you have never been to something like this, I would like to give you a little info.  Before you arrive at the event, the staff at Painting with a Twist will have your picture sketched out for you.  There is a skilled instructor who goes through the painting with you.  So whether you are a skilled painter or don't have an artistic bone in your body like me, it is a lot of fun!

This is a step by step BYOB painting class. Please arrive 10-15 min early to park, get checked in and settled in! If you desire more time to unwind, arrive up to 30 min early! This class is for ages 15 and up. Must be 21 and older to consume alcohol.

If you’re coming with others, but making reservations separately, give us your group’s name or point person in the Special Request box. We'll seat you together!

BYOB: Your own Drinks & food! We provide cups, plates, napkins, ice, ice buckets & bottle openers. We do NOT provide eating or serving utensils.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY: A store credit will be given for individuals canceling with at least 24 hours notice. (Leave a message if calling after hours or email us at studio112@paintingwithatwist.com).

Painting with a Twist reserves the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified at least 24 hours prior to class time and refunded.

**Our BYOB classes are intended for adult painters. You must be at least 21 to consume alcohol in the studio. Younger painters can participate in our All Ages Events!

Come meet some of our fosters and volunteers and enjoy a wiener dog day!   It's gonna be fun, plans are being made and in the works with other vendors as well as CTDR such as a mobile vet for vaccines, teeth care and more.  

CJ from 93.7 KLBJ-FM will be doing a live remote and will be judging the costume contest so bring your best doggie costume.  

There will be a puppichino eating contest and prizes for the winners.  

The King of Hot Dogs will be onsite for yummy eats.  Save the date!
